The Expert System Development Of Riser Design

For a long time, casting process CAD has lagged far behind CAE due to the poor availability. Riser system design has a very important role in the casting process design, so to change the traditional handy design of casting process, to improve the efficiency and level of design and to achieve the scientific management of casting process design, Therefore, this article studied the rising system technology, and made a designed programme of a rising system. It can be integrated with CAE system via a data interface. At the same time, because of the application of expert system has an obvious advantage on casting process, and using it can realize the artificial intelligence of the riser design, through it we can determine the optimal riser design scheme.As a result, this system introduce the expert system into the casting process riser designing CAD.The capability of the system has been sorted into two branches. The first branch of system is riser CAD module. The second branch is expert system of riser design module. In the riser CAD module, realize the connection with Pro/E,CAE system, and can made a automation designing, which developed the Pro/E with the secondary developing language Pro/TOOLKIT In the module of riser design expert system, set up the riser knowledgebase. The knowledgebase can be added, searched and adapted. Design data generated by the design process can be stored in a knowledge database which will facilitate the management and use of design data. A lot of drawings and database data can be provided to help to design the riser and gating system. With this software designers can design casting process on the basis of specific process rules or make some customizations to meet their own needs.This software runs under the mostly used Windows2000, an operating system with advanced flexibility, manageability and reliability, and is based on the Pro/ENGINEER, a very popular and powerful 3D design and drafting platform. With this software riser system can be designed and generated directly in 3D environment, which greatly simplify the design work and improve the visualization of process design for users. So it enables the user to design casting process directly in 3D environment, which greatly improves the design productivity and efficiency.
