The modern production process has become increasingly complicated. The state variables of equipments, which are interactional, have become more and more. The abnormal state of equipments would affect the quality of productions, even production stagnation and accidents. So it is very important to measure the equipment's status and performance parameters and respond to abnormity in time for normal production. All these depend on the research on the measurement technology.Nowadays the intelligent measurement technology based on microprocessor is widely used. There are two kinds of structures of intelligent measurement system, distributed and concentrated ones. The concentrated one based on PC or microprocessor, whose technology is proficient, is a good choice for not large scale system because of simple structure and low cost. If the system scale is large and many parameters need to be processed, the processor's burden will increase a lot so as to degrade the system performance. The distributed one organically connects every measurement unit together with network bus. These units are mutually independent, so it lightens the chief processor's burden and strengthens the reliability and improves system performance. However, it is complicate in technology to realize the structure and its cost is high. So this structure is suitable for large scale measurement system. In practice, we should consider every aspect according to requirements to select a suitable structure.Currently, there exists blindness and randomness in application systems development and the system solutions, hardware and software are omnifarious. In view of these, this paper expatiates on the structure, principles of designing hardware and software and the methods of anti-jamming for intelligent measurement system by analyzing a lot of application examples. And the paper gives the steps in detail for developing intelligent measurement system. Then, we develop a measurement system for special vehicle so that we may have a good understand in methods of developing intelligent measurement system. The article systematically summarizes the process of designing measurement system from theory and practice and it has certain practice guiding sense for the development and application of measurement technology.
