The Design And Implementation Of VoIP Network Management System

VoIP, since its coming to being in 90's, has undergone a drastic development which has been a significant impact on, as well as a drive to, both voice service and telecommunication networks. Put another way, VoIP's development witnesses the migration from circuit switch to packet switch, from classical networks to NGN on IP.Meanwhile, as the important system supporting to service operation-telecommunication management system has evolved from TMN to NGOSS, from aiming to maintenance and management to integrated network management aiming to operation.This thesis represented a practice and exploring for network management system construction on China Unicom VoIP network, the largest VoIP network in globe, drawing on network management theory. Firstly, an introduction on networks management theory was made, including the key technique and development in VoIP including the situation applied in China. The following is the specific description on the solution, developed by the author and his team, to China Unicom VoIP network management system. There are analysis of major issues, comparison between solutions as well as the product architecture, the sub-system structure and interface design. A summary was given at the end of the paper with some improvements to be done from author's point of view.
