The geographic information system (GIS) is a modern technology developed from 1960's to manage geographic information, it is also a subject to make analysis and research with the problems related to geographical environment. It is not only a principle, method and tool to get, store, transfer, analyze and express geographic information, but also a kind of reference to make decision for customers by figured information which can be output by use of the technology of computer graphics process and database. This kind of ability makes GIS distinguished from other information systems, and GIS has practical value in such aspects as apparatus management, information inquiry, network monitoring. Current map system about network monitoring and analysis can't meet customer's demand because of long process time and lake of uniform platform. This article is on the basis of the design of GIS information platform and course of realizing, the main content as following:1. Analyze and design a GIS platform in its real meaning, implement the unified management and sharing of the basic space data2. Analyze how to offer a unified access standard and an open application frame, realize seamless integration and access of several business systems3. Define high-efficient space information service and strong behavior ability, enable every business system to expand the business function conveniently4. Design different modules to manage every business system, and the business information of every system can be digged and comprehensive analyzed. This system is designed for base station management and location service, however, base station alarm monitoring and performance analysis should be added in next course. All of the functions are expected to be improved in practice.
