Atomic absorption spectrometer plays an very important role in the micro-trace and trace analysis of the inorganic elements . And it is the most important analytical instrument in the spectrum analysis instruments , it has several advantages which includes low sample volume , minimum element interference in quantitative analysis , low detection limit , high sensitivity , high precision , fast analyzing speed and wide application area .The software of the laboratory's atomic absorption spectrometer has problems in four aspects : (1)Function redundant and configuration complex . Among dozens of operating interface , many are concerned with graphite furnace atomic , hydride generator , automatic sampling , etc (which the instrument don't have) , and unnecessary select and settings, such as selecting flame as the method type , setting the sampling mode as manual . Not only increased the workload of settings , but also affects the interface simplicity due to the large amount of information , all these might lead to miss and error in operation ; (2) The software operating procedure is too complicated for nonprofessionals like teachers and students in our college ; (3) The software system don't supply query , and the function of remote control is hard to achieve either ; (4) The system can only output the preliminary result data like absorbance and concentration datas of analyte , but it can't carry out the data processing work after analysis .Aims at solving the problems currently exists in the original software , this paper tries to develop a set of software system on the basis of LabVIEW and database , in order to reduce the control complexity, and meanwhile extends its function and ultimately make better use of the apparatus . In this background , this paper studies the develop history of AAS , new technique of hardware and software development , as well as the develop direction of spectral apparatus in future . Surrounding the development process , the analysis principle and composition of AAS is introduced , together with the quantitative analysis methods and curve fitting techniques of atomic absorption analysis . At the same time the virtual instrument theory , such as the concept of virtual instruments and the development of a system and software development environment , data management technology and the network structure , as well as virtual instrument in the laboratory and teach field . On the ground of functional analysis of the atomic absorption spectrometer , this paper adopt Labview as develop language in the Windows XP environment , and made up a set of simplified and maneuverable software system to achieve the following functions : (1)Draw the calibration curve ; (2) Sample analysis ; (3) Remember or print out the analysis results ; (4) Datas query of analysis results ; (5) General data processing of the results ; (6) Experimental can be easily published for teachers to demonstration so students can be helped in understanding certain process about the instrument before they use it , and avoids the unnecessary damage or poor accuracy by improper use of equipment .Testments were conducted to verify the respective functions of new system by means of detecting the concentration of copper in the lubricant oil , and following conclusion was educed : little concentration difference in testing results between the newly designed system and the original system , which meets the analysis requirements ; The system is simple to operate , and the interface work friendly ; Function of query and data precess are flexible and practical ; The set work of remote publish is simple and the image is also arculative and vivid.
