RFID is the abbreviation of Radio Frequency Identification. It is one of the booming technologies in these years. Although the principle of RFID is relatively simple, the correlative technologies include Radio Frequency circuit design, data coding, standards of RFID, press and anti-counterfeit technology, information security and so on.An RFID system consists of a tag made up of a microchip with an antenna, and an reader /writer with an antenna. The reader/writer sends out electromagnetic waves. The tag antenna is tuned to receive these waves. A passive RFID tag draws power from the field created by the reader/writer and uses it to power the microchip's circuits. The chip then modulates the waves that the tag sends back to the reader/writer, which converts the new waves into digital data. This paper discusses the developing status of RFID, the bottle-neck of RFID, the I ยท CODE protocol made by Philips and the design of our RFID system. The most important part of this paper is the argumentation of the anticollision arithmetic, the simulation result is given and some improvement is made. This paper also compares DSP with the single-chip microcomputer. CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) is used in the RFID system and it is introduced simply.CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device) is a main part of digital module of our RFID system, it completes the work of coding, decoding and CRC. In succession, the hardware of this digital circuit is explained.
