As the most important infrastructures for information building, servers grow rapidly these years and act as more and more significant functions. There are lots of key businesses which operate on servers, it can lead to great loss or even disastrous consequence by power drops on servers accidently. Therefore servers must run uninterruptedly.As one of the components for servers, power supply is the basis for servers' steady running. The traditional managing function of power supply is simple and limited, the unadvanced managing method brings many problems. In order to change this situation, it researches and develops a new more intelligent management system of server power supply in the thesis.The new management system is made up of power subsystem, management subsystem and network subsystem. The power subsystem uses dual-switch forward topologies. The management subsystem is based on STC89C53RC mcu to implement data's converter, transfer, store, show and communication. The network subsystem completes Ethernet communication by 51 mcu. The management system has reached the anticipative goal after debugging.The management system is a more integrated and advanced technical solution of power supply's managing. It has high efficiency, conveniency and intelligence. Compared to the traditional sever power supply's management system it has some virtues as follow.Firstly, it has much more monitoring items. Except for voltage and temperature, it can also monitor current and fan's speed. It is very convenient to get the power consumption of servers by monitor current, based on these testing data, it can not only help choose appropriate power supply for server manufacturer but also help arrange servers' running for customers.Secondly, it makes management more convenient and efficient by various management methods. These methods include local management interface, LCD management interface and remote management interface.Thirdly, it makes management more intelligent by active management. By setting automatic management function, it can alarm or shutdown servers as soon as failure occurs.Forthly, it can record abnormal events and store datas which is more helpful after the event.Fifthly, it uses LCD management interface to manage without logging in the servers, then it reduces the risk of revealing secret informations.Sixthly, it is not necessary for customers implement managing on the spot by remote operation, then it reduces managing cost and improves manging efficiency.It has good social benefits and economic values, and it is worthy of being applied and spreaded widely.
