Design And Implementation Of The Distant Examination And Critique System Based On .NET

This paper presents the design and implementation of an remote online test and evaluation system, paticipated by the author. The guideline of the system design is the construction-based modern teaching patterns and evaluation method. And, also, the transportation carrier, used by the system, is Internet; the architecture of the system is based on B/S mode; .NET is used as its development platform. Till now, the following functions have been completed in the system: The problem database management, including addition and deletion of problems by administrators; access the problem database,from multiple entrance point,according to type of problems, hardness of problems, knowledge points covered by the problems. Test paper generation methods, which can be freely chosen by teachers, and the intelligtent test paper composition subsytems, based on genetic algorithms. Online test and teacher scoring feature are also implemented in the system, which resolved some difficulties and nonreasonalities in determining the answers for problems with uncertainties wnile.automatically scoring by the system . This system has integrated two evaluation models, one is the traditional points-based evaluation model, and the other is coverage-evaluation model. By using these two kinds of evaluation model, the teacher can evaluate the students both from macro and micro aspect to make more accuracy evaluation for students. The author also tried to use the SQLServer2000's data mining tool"Analysis Services"to analyze the large amount of data in the database, and obtained some valuable information. Overall, this online test and evaluation system has achieved its desired goal specified in requirement analysis, and can meet the basic test and evaluation needs.
