More and more requests from people to instrument, specially urgent need to the intelligent instrument. The development of the embedded system provides an effective method for the instrument intellectualization, enables performance of the instrument to push an advanced step. In view of the shortcoming exist the forth radio factories in shijiazhuang to instrument,I used ADSP-BF531 based on embedded system.This topic has used the double core chip BF531of ADI, this chip has embedded the uClinux as software development platform. Double core means moving two processors (CPU+DSP) on a chip, data processing speed of this chip must be quicker than the single nucleuschip, moreover the price of this chip is inexpensive, thus it suits to the request of intellectualized instruments, and can drive the further development of the instrument.Firstly this article introduces the origin and significance of the topic, the application domain of embedded system,characteristics and the development tendency, then introduces the chosed reasons of the system hardware platform and the software platform, and researches ADSP-BF531 hardware connection circuit based on the hardware platform and the software platform , specially parallel peripheral interface (PPI), direct memory access (DMA) and timers (TIMER). After thoroughly I have studied the related knowledge of driver development and the development flow, I have developed the liquid crystal display driver, and have designed the hardware electric circuit. Then it has made the comparison to the dynamic insertion and thestatic insertion, because the dynamic insertion did not need repeatedly to write the kernel, more conveniently than the static state, I uses the dynamic type to inster the liquid crystal display driver, and has compiled the test program, after the success confirmation burnt into the kernel.
