With the development of communication technology, single data or voice communicationmethod has been unable to meet the needs of enterprise development; video communication hasbecome a hot topic of today’s development. As a carrier of video communication, videoconference system has received increasing attention.At the same time, because of its safety, costcontrollable characteristics, embedded system has been widely applied to video conferencesystem.In view of the trend, this paper designs a video conference scheduling system according tothe project based on embedded system. The system combines the advantages of SDH andembedded technology, and makes use of embedded processor to achieve schedule functions ofvideo conference through the SDH network.Firstly, this paper introduces the research background and development process of thevideo conference system.Secondly, a detailed analysis is made in the current situation of thevideo conference field. Finally, this paper design and implement the hardware part of thescheduling system based on the embedded video conference,including a detailed hardwaredesign programs and process, such as analysis of the system function, chip selection, design ofhardware structure, design of functional units circuit, and debugging for hardware as well asperformance testing of the whole system.The hardware parts of the embedded video conference scheduling system described in thispaper is composed of the main controller module, audio and video switching module, the lineinterface unit module, power supply module, and the clock reset module. The main controllerADSP-BF531processor module is the CPU of the whole system, accomplishes sending andreceiving on the IP network, controlling the parallel bus, indicator, serial port, communicationwith PC and so on. The audio and video switching module accomplishes switching video andaudio signals based on E1, DTMF detection and so on. The connection between the twomodules uses the parallel bus.In addition, this paper accomplishes the software design of BF531,debugging of hardwareand testing of the whole system.The test results show that, the video conference schedulingsystem designed in this paper can have meetings according to various demands and completevarious scheduling functions. It basically achieves the design goals.Compared to embedded video conference scheduling terminal in the market, the terminalhas some advantages such as low cost, work stability, functional comprehensive, rich interfaces,rapid data-processing speed, and they mainly aim at small and medium-sized users and so on.
