The Digital Image Processing technique takes importannt effect in many fileds. It has become a significant method to estimate the particle size distribution with high speed and efficiency that applying the image processing to particle measurement.In this paper, the image processing software kit is compiled. We analyse the struct of the application which is created by MFC and the function of each part. And use the dynamic link library to finish the work of opening and displaying the files. A DIB class is compiled, to implement the image processing function by the operation on the objects. The construction of the frame of the application based on MFC is introduced. The response function to various image processing operations is proposed separately. Based on the principle of image displaying and the struct of the BMP files, we introduce the theory of the image processing function, including the pixel operation, geometrical transform, image enhancement, morphological operaion, the edge detection and segmentation, and present the core arithmetic and the flow of the fuctions. The operation result is given.Accroding to the requirement of research, the application of the program in the particle measurement is given. The rule in the measurement, the attribute and the correlative concept of particles are introduced, involving the fundamental of the measurement, the size and shape of particles. We use the segmentation methond based on connectiy-number as the edge detection measures, the measurement process and the flow are introduced.By the operation, the image processing software kit is used in practical as the tool in measurement. The practicability and the correctness of the kit are demonstrated, and a valueable scheme on the particle measurement based on image processing is proposed.
