In the coal-fired power generation, the combustion efficiency of pulverized coal directlyaffects the efficiency and the cost of thermal power generation. However, the unsuitable sizeor the uneven concentration will cause inefficiency of pulverized coal combustion. Therefore,it is particularly important for the relevant parameters of the pulverized coal to be measured.At present, the detection methods of particles based on image processing have been developed.But they are mainly applied to the measurement of static particles, not to the particles whichare in the flow state. Therefore, this paper research on the static particle image processingalgorithms, on the basis of studying on parameter measurement of dynamic fuzzy particles.On the aspect of static particle image processing, firstly the article does the binarizationprocessing for the particle images. Then we adopt relevant way to process the image by themorphology filter, holes filling, boundary particle removal and edge detection. Then theimproved edge detection algorithm is proposed. Finally, we adopt the improved watershedalgorithm to deal with the adhesion problems and it is very effective. The above workprovides the essential prerequisite for the dynamic particle image processing.On the aspect of dynamic particle image processing, the paper mainly makes study fromtwo parts: motion blur particle images and defocus blurred particle images. Firstly we analyzethe grayscale characteristics and the spectrum feature of motion blurred image on the imagingprinciple. Two kinds of methods of motion blurred particle measurement are studied. One is tomeasure the parameter of particles by using the images of particle trajectories; The other isbased on image restoration. They provide the basis for dynamic particle measurement. Finallythe paper studies the particle motion blurred images and gives the gray level distribution ofthe transitional area.Finally, we measure the equivalent diameter, area and perimeter of the static coalparticles and present the tables of distribution of the parameters of particles and the charts of particle size distribution. For the motion blurred particles, the blurring trajectory and theblurred width are measured. According to the measuring principle of the trajectory of particles,we calculate the velocity of movement of the particles. The errors of measuring theparameters of particles are analyzed. The above content provides a reliable solution formeasuring the pulverized coal particles online.
