Laser-3D scanning technology is a major approach to the object's 3D-digitalized processing. And one essential link in that process is the technology of extracting the centerline in optical tape based on 2D-image processing. This paper studied the algorithm for processing the laser-3D scanned optical tape, designing the assitant software for the image processing of optical tape, transplanting the software into DSP environment for experiment, and laying the foundation for developing DSP system for optical-tape image processing. The major tasks in this paper include:1. Designing the program of algorithmic using C language for extracting the centerline in 2-D optical tape image with the help of Laser-3D scanning and advocated the methods for software pipelining and program optimizing, transplanting the program into SEED-DIK VPM642 running environment ofTMS320DM642 DSP and debugging the program;2. Writing the assistant software of image-processing that can collect the centerline of 2-D optical tape and display the processing result, which make the analysis of processing data more convenient;3. Doing the experiment to collect CCD video image and extracting the centerline in 2-D optical tape with the help of SEED-DIK VPM642 DSP system;4. Making an elementary discussion about the configuration of storage system of TMS320DM642 DSP, the connection of the video input interface and the data output inferface.
