Research On The Network Downloadable Platform Based On PowerPC405

With the development of Network and the abundance of video, people need more powerful network downloadable devices. Nowadays, the capacity of videos and data has increased rapidly, from teens of GB to hundreds of GB. It will take several hours to download them by wide band .People usually have to wait in front of the computer for downloading the resources from the internet, which not only wastes the time and energy sources ,but also damages their health and increases the hidden safety trouble. Researching and developing of network downloadable platform is one of the important tasks during the development of our country's information industry. It is significant to the economic development of our country.According to the feature of network downloadable equipment, we design a kind of network downloadable platform based on PowerPC405 processor. This platform not only can be used as a network memorizer but also can download the network resources intelligently. When the downloadable target is confirmed by the consumer, this platform will download the target no matter whether the computer is operating or not. It is used conveniently only by connecting the power and ethernet cable.First of all, this paper briefly introduced that the main principle of network downloadable platform and the design of system structure. Afterwards, it details the theory and the method of building hardware platform, including the connection of MPU,memory,network interface,PCI to SATA and other I/O interface. Then, the way of protracting PCB is introduced. Furthermore, this dissertation also gives the process and the method of debugging, including debugging tools and principles. In the end, the transplantation of real time operation system Vxworks is introduced.
