Design And Realize A Server Monitor System Of Campus Network Base On SNMP

With the development of the computer and network technical,especially with the.coming of Wide Band age,the network as the basic facilities of the communicating society penetrate to all field of the society.Tradition industry integrated with the network closely,the end users depend on network becomes wider and wider.As the network change complex more and more,a serials new requirement for network management is proposed.In long-term network running and practical management,a whole set network management industry standard had come into being.Now,there are so many protocol standards of the computer network,the TCP/IP protocol group has become the virtual industry standard to be used widly because of maturation and the Internet rapidly development base of TCP/IP.In the same way,SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) base of TCP/IP has become the network management industry standard because of simple operation,powerful function and performable.This paper root in really instance of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University campus network, we researched the main parameters influence of servers performance,and gived a set of server performance monitoring system structural model that suited to the campus networks environment.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign software system that used in network performance,survey and monitoring,established a set of practical server performance monitoring system,analyzed the network performance data which obtains from this system on the various aspect,implemented the demand of the server performance survey and monitoring in the network management.The paper has two parts.The first is the basic theory research.Based on the demand analysis of network performance management and monitoring,through research to the SNMP,summarized the main performance parameters of university campus network server monitor system.The second,introduced design detail of the monitor system based on WEB.This system achieved the goal of monitoring the main performance targets such as delay,packet loss,bandwidth,CPU load,and disk space and so on which from multi-manufacturer and multi-platform server systems in campus network,enhanced the "transparence" in the network management process,made the network management personnel to have a clear grasping about the network operation condition.
