| Scientific visualization is a kind of method that uses the technology of computer graphics and image manipulation to transform the computing data to figures and images that can be shown on the screen and can be made interactive modifications. When scientific visualization is applied to geologic research, some goals can be achieved, such as spatial modeling of terrane structure and geologic formation and their displaying by figures and images.Along with the rise of 3D modeling technology and the emergence of virtual reality, a perfect working platform is provided for production designing and creation. Using the three dimension conception, designers can analyze and evaluate the feasibility and reliability of a designing plan through model simulation with the gradual maturity of the theory of 3D modeling, many excellent modeling technique and software are developed and their application areas become wider and wider.Based on the analysis of present situation, developing trends and existing problems of three-dimensional modeling, a mathematical economic visualization model of Liangshan iron mine was established and analysed. Moreover, the development system was designed by 3-D visualization technique. The main content of this paper can be summarized as follows:1. A comprehensive analysis of visualization technology was made, including present situation, developing trends and application in geographic research.2. Geological characteristics of Liangshan iron mine were analysed, 3-D model of drills was established and samples were statisticed and analysed.3. 3-D visualization models of Liangshan iron mine were constructed, including surface model, orebody model and fault model.4. Evaluation was made by adopting Inverse distance weighted method and mine's reserve were statisticed and evaluated with nest technology of wire frame model and block model to provide a comprehensive technical data for the evaluation of resources. 5 Development system was designed based on the visualization of geological model.It has an important role to improve the technical level of traditional mine with the rapid development and maturity of computer graphics. The establishment of geological visualization mathematical economic model provided decisions for the estimation and design of Liangshan iron mine, with 3-D development system, the models have an important guiding significance during the mine's production and provide more important information for the designers. |
