With the increasing demands on data acquisition in the fields of modern industrial productions and scientific researches, the superiority of data acquisition platforms with USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface has become more and more obvious in some high speed and high precision measurement systems such as transient signal detecting and image processing systems. The usage of USB-based data acquisition card has already become a prevalence at present. This thesis aims to construct a data acquisition platform based on USB interface. Firstly, a data acquisition card based on USB interface chip PDIUSBD12, A/D chip MAX1166 and microcontroller 89C52 is developed. Secondly, three layers of programs, namely the corresponding MCU program for card, PC buttom drivers for USB interface, and PC user application program under VC++ development environment are developed, which realize bidirectional communication from low layer MCU to PC baesd on Windows XP operating system. Finally, a data acquisition platform based on USB interface is built sucessfully. The main parts of this thesis comprise two important contents, namely hardware and software design. The hardware design introduces the clock circuit based on 89C52, power supply circuit, A/D acquisition circuit based on MAX1166, keystroke reset circuit, USB interface circuit based on PDIUSBD12 and serial circuit. The software design introduces firmware program design based on KEIL development environment, WINDOWS XP WDM driver based on MICROSOFT DDK and debug using SOFTICE tool for the driver. Finally , user application design is intrduced based on VC.This thesis lays a solid foundation for the future study and projects on data acquisition system based on USB interface, which achieves the purpose of subject research.
