Three-dimensional computer facial animation is an important way for human-computer interaction, and it can be applied to various areas of virtual reality environments such as virtual presenter, net meeting, videophone, remote education, remote medical diagnosis, movie effects and games etc. Since MPEG-4 based facial animation system is a much more universal facial animation system and has the advantage of little data, computationally cheap and can perform real time animation, it attracts more and more attention in recent years.The study areas in 3D facial animation include facial modeling and facial animation. This dissertation focuses mainly on the modeling of human face and the realization of real human facial animation based on MPEG-4 facial animation method. In order to achieve this goal, the paper describes in detail the relative content of feature extracting, special face modeling, expression animation, MPEG-4 facial molding system standard and the like. We try to make using of facial feature contour extraction for 3D head Deformable modeling in order to get facial features location to construct the relation between it and the improving CANDIDE-3 model based on MPEG-4, and achieve special face modeling. The key point in a MPEG-4 based facial animation system is the construction of the FaceDefTables corresponding to the specific facial model. In this paper, directed by FaceDefTables, we implement a system of human face animation control system by using VC+6.0 and OpenGL, for validating the effectiveness of our approach, and putting forward the directions for further research. |
