The subject is made under the background of No.3 horizontal continuous-cast line automation control system of Shiyan Yiming bronze factory in Hubei province.An automation control system of horizontal continuous-cast machine is designed and realized according to the technique demands. A lot of devices including drafters, milling machine, crimper, hydraulic station and so on are controlled in the system. By analyzing continuous-cast control method at home and abroad, a horizontal continuous-cast line control system is designed based on the demands of management and monitoring in modern metallurgy field. The system is based on SIMATIC S7-300 PLC, Fuji UG520 HMI and Lenze 9300EP servo controller. Based on the problem that traditional casting is not so accurate that the products are bad in quality and that the field's circuits are complex, a new method is presented. In the new method, 2M Profibus-DP bus is used among SIEMENS S7-300 master station and slave station, HMI and fully digital driver equipment. In this case, the information can be transmitted within automation control devices steadily at a high speed.As to the hardware, a field bus control system based on Profibus-DP communication network is designed by analyzing the control object of the system. In the system, Siemens S7-300 PLC is the core of control. In the network, there is a lot of hardware including Siemens S7-300 PLC, Fuji UG430H HMI, Lenze EP9300 alternating-current servo controller, alternating-current servo motor, deceleration device, brake units, rotation voltage transformer and so on. In the hardware, Siemens S7-300 PLC is a kind of programming logic controller, and it is used for process calculating and control, and Fuji UG430H is used as monitor interface.As for the software, in the compiling environment SIMATIC STEP7 V5.4 of S7-300, the PLC software is designed and debugged, and the hardware configuration and all the functions of the system are realized. The monitoring software of HMI is designed. By programming the Lenze servo controller and adjusting the parameters in GDC, the servo motor can be controlled according to users'demands. By configuration of SIMATIC in hardware, Pfofibus communication protocol is used between master station and slave station, with PLC being master station of the system, HMI and servo controller being slave station of the system. In addition, the software procedure diagram of each function model of the system and part of the source codes are presented in detail in the paper.By installing and debugging the system in the field, it is can be concluded that the system can run stably, and all the expected functions have been realized. Therefore, the design ideas turn out to be correct. What's more, by the practical applications in the field, it is proved that the system can promote the production efficiency of horizontal continuous-cast devices, and can guarantee the quality of products, and the effect is satisfactory.
