In peaceful times, the fixed network failure will be controlled at a very low level. The network state detection mechanism of traditional network routing protocol can completely meet the requirements of network operation and maintenance. But in wartime environment, the ever-changing battlefield environment, the network structure will change dynamicly and the network technology is facing severe challenges. We must solve two basic problems. First, how access to state network information accurately and timely. Secondly, how handle such information rapidly. A sensitive and efficient detection and network status information distribution mechanism is an important prerequisite to solve the first problem. The focus of this paper is on MPLS OAM technology research and analysis to achieve the basic functions and provide a fault detection solution between the network layer and datalink layer to improve the efficiency of the network.OAM is important in modern network management, which can improve network reliability, simplify operations and lower network operating costs. MPLS network fault detection mechanisms as the basic contents of MPLS OAM, have the abilities of the MPLS network fault diagnosis and localization. Its purpose is to enhance network availability and quality of service to customers.The main contribution of this paper lies in the fact that, through in-depth analysis of MPLS OAM standards, we achieve a basic tool for fault detection of MPLS LSP Ping on Linux platform and complete the pre-foundation development work of a fast and efficient network fault detection technology. First, the paper introduces the definition of ITU-T and IETF on MPLS OAM. Then, the paper analyses the implemention of MPLS based on the Linux kernel and discribes the process of all modules. On this base, the paper gives the blue print of MPLS LSP ping and detailed discripiton of each module.And the implementation of MPLS SOCKET The testing platform and process of MPLS LSP Ping is in the end.
