With the development of the growing Internet technology, video conferencing has become an important means and tool by which people can communicate with each other. And the same time, with the development of embedded systems, embedded technology is increasingly being applied to complete the video acquisition and processing tasks in video areas.A video conferencing system framework, which is based on embedded audio and video acquisition, is proposed for the campus network environment in this paper. The embedded video and audio acquisition and data transmission through IP multicast are used for this video conferencing system. And lots of large-scale, real-time, high-definition video conferences can be launched at the same time in this system in the campus network environment.The video conferencing system proposed in this paper is very different from traditional video conferencing systems. In traditional video conferencing systems, the USB cameras and microphones are connected to personal computers, and the audio and video data are encoded by software and then transmitted to the other computer through network. In this paper, however, the embedded device completes the collection, coding and transmission of audio and video data. The system can be more efficient to focus on the audio and video data collection and coding, and enhance audio and video quality and real-time performance. Therefore, the system has the features of real-time, high-definition, low-load system and flexible installation.
