With the wide extension of Internet and the increasing of Application based on Internet, IP networks are experiencing transmissions from single data networks to multi-service networks. The rising application of voice and multimedia all have strict demands with the transmission parameters of network bandwidth,delay and jitter, but the traditional Internet which provides only best-effort service could not satisfy this request. Meanwhile, IPv6 protocol is superior to IPv4 on address management, security and mobility management. These advantages insure IPv6's core position in Next Generation Network(NGN). How to solve the QoS problem in IPv6 environment is the key issue impacting the development of NGN and right the key research contents of the CNGI-QoS project.Now, main version of IP in use is IPv4, and it is impossible to update to IPv6 in one night. So, there will be a transition network from IPv4 to IPv6. And some techniques are needed to support this network. Fortunately, many network experts do a lot of researches in this domain. As a popular technology about IPv6 over MPLS, 6PE has been supported by many equipment manufactures. This thesis studies how to provide QoS management for 6PE network.This thesis, which focuses on MPLS DiffServ support mechanisms and 6PE technology, gives a short review of basic IP QoS mechanisms, IPv6 protocol, MPLS technology and integration technology of IPv6 and MPLS. A solution to provide end-to-end differentiated services for 6PE network (6PE-DiffServ solution) is introduced, with the integration of MPLS DiffServ support mechanisms and 6PE technology. And the principle of 6PE-DiffServ is elaborated in details. Based on 6PE-DiffServ solution, CNGI QoS management system is expanded to support QoS management for both the IPv6 networks and 6PE networks. The extension of the system is known as the 6PE management subsystem.6PE management subsystem is introduced in details in Chapter Four. The requirement of 6PE management subsystem is talked about firstly. According to the requirement of 6PE management subsystem, the architecture and the main function are designed, and the realization and testing of main modules are introduced at last.The fifth chapter introduced the design of 6PE management subsystem test bed, and verified the feasibility of 6PE-DiffServ solution. The result shows that: 6PE-DiffServ solution is feasible, and it can provide end-to-end differentiated services for 6PE network. And then we analyze the disadvantages and improvements of the system in the final chapter.
