Peer-to-Peer (P2P) is becoming popular rapidly because of its rich application mode. In just a few years, P2P application has occupied the Internet flow rate mostly and it has been named by FORTUNE one of the four biggest technologies which will change Internet development direction in the future. In this amazing and challenging field, the underlying technical support of P2P application is gaining great attention. So it has active research significance. With the evolution of IPv6 multicast and rapid increase of multicast application, multicast service certainly will be the main Internet service in the next generation of IPv6 Internet. At present, many protocol standards formulating multicast technology take the support for IPv6 into consideration on the basis of supporting IPv4.The subject CNGI project is a large-scale background and multicast routing component of the experimental study, this project is pure IPv6 test environment and the feasibility of P2P performance, the performance of large-scale IPv6 Multicast, based on the Design and Implementation IPv6 Multicast technology and P2P file distribution system. In the thesis, P2P technology and IPv6 multicast are first introduced. IPv6 multicast and P2P collaborative transmission data are discussed emphatically on the basis of IPv6 multicast and file distribution system for P2P technology: with P2P technology, getting the lost slicing during multicast transmission and diffusing the multicast data from one multicast domain to other multicast domains. There are four parts in the thesis: in part one P2P technology and IPv6 multicast are introduced in detail; the system structure of the file distribution system is analyzed in part two; IPv6 multicast and P2P collaborative transmission data are discussed emphatically in part three and the correlated tests are introduced in part four.
