Information sharing is a hot topic. At present Client/Server mode is the main way of organizing and managing resource. The resource is stored in the server. The resource exchange and person-to-person interaction are completed by servers. The interaction between user and server is the main mode in information system. Obviously, such centralized pattern is easy to manage resource globally.With the increasing of resource-sharing demand and the expanding of application scope, its disadvantages in the resource management appear which include the central-node bottleneck and the single-node breakdown. Because of lacking uniform standard of resource description, the resource discovery, sharing and interoperability between systems are very defective.Then, which method should be chosen to enable the large-scale system to share resource efficiently, and is it possible to share resource between the different systems? In view of this question, the research on semantic community (SC) based on the peer-to-peer (P2P) is conducted.The author has done massive research in view of ontology technology and P2P network. SC exploiting ontology technology and P2P network, attempts to explore a more effective way of resource-sharing.The P2P network has advantages: it has no central server, which avoids the bottlenecks of the computing performance and information updating; it has strong robustness without the single-point breakdown; it has good scalability in the capacity of data and quantity of nodes. Therefore, hybrid structure of P2P network has been adopted by SC. Although P2P is autonomous and extensible, it cannot support the high-level application because of lacking the essential understanding, coordination and scheduling ability.Ontology is a very important part in Semantic Web. It supports the machine-understandable, and shares concepts of different interesting domains. To improve disadvantages of P2P network effectively, semantics is added in the community.SC shares resource above the application layer by exploiting message forwarding mechanism based on semantics, and improves resource discovery ,coverage, recall. So SC can effectively discover, locate and return the needed resource according to the demand of user.Comparing related concepts of community, SC has been defined formally. The architecture of SC is established. The system structure of SC is introduced. The model of SC is developed, and mathematics model is proved.How to generate SC is highlighted, including the basic idea of SC, the algorithm description and the time complexity analysis of the algorithm. The specific processes of generating SC are described in detail, and the process is explained with examples.To further improve the search performance, message forwarding mechanism based on ontology is described which can reduce the number of nodes in forwarding process and increase the success rate, and prove the performance improvement through experimental.
