The computer network performance is the synthesis that judges the computer network running status each assessment criteria. Because the computer network develops high velocity and does things in their own way research system, as well as compatible questions and so on, some uncoordinated technologies with the whole developing trend and future requirement appear, which have created the network performance low efficiency and instability. The paper analyzes the unreasonable address assigning, the redundancy of protocol data and ARP broadcasting problems, and proposes some strategies to optimize network performance. The primary content and the result are as follows:(1) Has studied the objective point which the computer network overall performance optimizes, summarized several aspects that computer network performance may carry on the optimization;(2) Has deeply analyzed the disadvantage of working in network layer in architecture of computer network system , proposed target-oriented methods and strategies of optimization—geography relativity of IP address assigning and direction-driven routing algorithm, the feasibility of means is argued, the simulation experiment proves this algorithm for routing efficiency is higher than traditional routing algorithm;(3) The efficiency of data link layer is improved through suitable curtailing redundancy of frame data, the problem of higher data redundancy is simply analyzed in current data link layer, and the solving mean is advanced;(4) Has analyzed the main factor of reducing the efficiency of data link layer is using ARP technology, and other problems owing to using the technology; and proposed using switcher detecting algorithm to get switching table, therefore, can cancel using ARP technology, and solved the efficiency of data link layer and ARP cheating problem thoroughly and so on. Finally, the author summarizes the research work, and forecasts the future developments in optimization of network performance.
