Intertextual Study Of News In Pictures

Julia kristeva first produced the articulation of intertextual theory. Intertextual theory has developed for a long time.Its intension is very rich. Intertextual approach is important in discourse study which refers to three aspects:text production,text distribution and text consumption. News in Pictures is one kind of discourse. Intertextuality study of news discourse not only break the rigidity and solidity of isolated text analysis and provide a flowed angle of view which lead to pay attention to text presentation,dependence and inheritance of society, but also make text analysis advantageous tool and weapon to think over social practice and criticize social consciousness.The thesis consists of five parts.In the preface,existed analysis of news in pictures has been introduced.In this part, the reason,the meaning and the frame of selected topic of the thesis have been made clear. In chapter one,the historical development of intertextuality has been combed out. The importance of intertextual approach to study of picture news has also been pointed out.In chapter two intertextual study of news in pictures has been stressed. Intertextual appearance of news in pictures analysed with two aspects:clear intertextuality and constrcted intertextuality. It has pointed out that joint cooperation and fine amalgam of clear intertextuality and constrcted intertextuality effectly pass on the communicater's purpose. The chapter three point out the relationship between intertextuality and mass reading.The existence of intertextuality set in a open text which let mass have many kinds of comprehension.Part five is end of the thesis,the meaning of thesis has been pointed out.
