The Application Of Workflow Technology In Management Information System Of Adult Higher Education

Adult higher education in China's higher education system is an important part of China's comprehensive improvement in the quality, which enhances the level of effective national education initiatives. Along with the accelerated process of popularization in higher education, the enrollment scale of adult higher education is expanding rapidly.The management information system in adult higher education is a comprehensive task-dealing information system, which enhances the management efficiency and the data-dealing security, at the same time deduce greatly workers'labor intension. The adult higher education management will get much convenience from the task reorganization which is intelligentized, high-efficient, controllable and flexible. Workflow technology is used in adult education management information system to effectively use information resources, so that the original artificial inter-office transfer activities can be replaced by computer assistance, thus reducing the human resources as well as improving work efficiency.On the basis of the analysis of the business processes and characteristics of adult education management information systems, the paper focuses on the design and the implement of process modeling and engine. Process modeling is the first problem of workflow management system to solve, and with the reference of Workflow Management Coalition XPDL definition format this paper has carried out a detailed design on the definition of workflow files through attribution expanding.Workflow engine is a key component in controlling process execution. Adult education management system is also only integrated with the engine and then can carry out the needed operations such as the specific process definition, process approval and so on. The paper has obtained a light-grade workflow engine on the basis of relation-database and carried out a concrete design in centre module with JAVA technology to fulfill the basic functions of process controlling, activities transferring, task distributing, and user-restricting management in workflow management system. As to the design of the workflow engine, this paper applies the central control strategy with the control centre as the core, the unified management and process management modules such as scheduling, inspection modules. As to the analytical part of the process of the engine, the paper uses JDOM analytical methods, and the process definition files of JDOM xml format file is annotated as object classes. And then it will be stored as process model in the database by mapping between a table and type in the database. On the basis of parts, the organ module enhances the security of the system and flexibility of task-sending in some ways.Through the design of the client interface, this paper achieves the pending tasks, handled tasks and process monitor modules, etc. and thus workflow technology is well used in adult management information system.The open-system architecture and the design of components, not only upgrade greatly the scalability and maintainability of the system, but also enhance the system's portability. The use of the Java platform increases the reusability of software modules, and reduces the cost of system development and maintenance.With the use of workflow technology, the efficiency of the management of adult education office automation can be enhanced significantly. And it can also shorten the development cycle of business reorganization process. Users can get more convenience for quickly building the characteristics of the Internet.
