With the rapid development of cloud computing, big data, the technologies of the Internet of Things and mobile Internet are widely used in our daily life. The tradition model of static network is more and more difficult to meet the demand of our flexible resources, SDN, the separation of network device’s control plane and data planes, is the emerging network architecture based on software.SDN can use the centralized controller to control the behavior of the underlying network equipment, provide a new way for administrators to be more flexible and reliable management and control of the network.In addition, Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6),a mature,proven and deployed globally technology and the future of internet infrastructure, have many excellent features, such as limitless broad address space, simple message structure,to solve the scarcity of IPv4 address resource. Today SDN and IPv6 are the hot topic, and will makes the future network more scalability and flexibility by combining with SDN and IPv6.The paper analyzes some shortages of SDN network for IPv6 data, and the characteristics of flow label, the new field of IPv6. The paper proposed a SDN optimization program based on IPv6. In the match of IPv6 flow based on OpenFlow, the southbound interface of SDN, we use the IPv6 new field flowlabel to reduce the IPv6 flow forwarding delay and delay jitter, to increase the network performance of the OpenFlow network based on IPv6.Flow label also can be used on flow table in OpenFlow switch, the flow table structure with flow label, to reduce the the size of flow table in OpenFlow switch.In this paper, we finished the simulation experiments on Mininet platform. We simulated the IPv6 flow transmission process of OpenFlow with flow label or without flow label and compare the delay, jitter of forwarding and the size of flow table, Experimental results show that, in the transmission process of IPv6 flow, the match based on flow label has improve the performance of IPv6 forwarding delayjitter and the size of flow table.Compared with the forwarding without flow label and the forwarding with flow label,network performance based on flow label has been improved effively in our scenarios.
