Along with the information age oncoming, the Network Centric Warfare (NCW) is becoming the new form of war which is very different with before; the combat is not the confrontation between the operational unit and unit, but the networked-centered confrontation of systems. The battlefield is a timely network for units and possible exchange and interaction among them in material, energy and information. The traditional classical model describing war has facing the huge challenge of information; so the new time needs the new model.Synchronization is one of the core concepts of NCW. Operation synchronization is considered to achieve based on the apperception, transmission, share and understanding of battlefield information, and all duel units of one side can harmonize actively, achieving operation intention without centralized control. It is the intention of Network Central Operation that all units' harmonization and synchronization. Based on the research of operation synchronization, the process that how information superiority change into operation superiority in a special network can be understood more clearly, and the efficiency of operation can be evaluated more scientifically.This paper focuses on the research of operation synchronization. At first, the paper analyzed the characteristic of traditional combat model and the conception of NCW, and the mapped relation between NCW and network combat model in different domains was also presented. Then, based on the basal theory of complex network, several combat models were introduced. And then, the connotation of synchronization in modern war was discussed. Two kinds of methods were respectively used for comparing synchronization abilities of different networks. The first method is based on eigenvalue of adjacency coupling matrix, and the second method is based on communication decision-making model. In this paper, the quantitative standard for operation synchronization evaluating was discussed, and the network combat models which can reflect operation synchronization were constructed, and how the synchronization influence operation was also studied by experiments. In the last of paper, we presented several methods for enhancing synchronization, and based on tree network we constructed a small world tree network that can enhance synchronization obviously. We also studied the invulnerability of network synchronization by experiments, then advice and examples were suggested for enhancing operation synchronization which have the concept demonstration signification.
