Study On The Modeling And Performance Simulation Of Air Combat Subnet In Link16

As its high data throughput, high anti-interference ability, high safety and the capability of working on a variety of terminal equipment, the No.16th combat and communication data chain (Link16) has become the most widely used tactical information exchange system in the modern war. In actual combat, the most common case is that a few of combat units form a small combat network. So it is very meaningful to optimize some of the communication protocol of Link16and improve its efficiency in small combat networks.In this paper we propose a fast networking protocol and a Net Time Reference (NTR) election protocol to improve the networking process and protecting switching efficiency. The quickly networking protocol focuses on the optimization of networking of battle fleet in air combat subnet. To fulfill the demand of precision control and adding missile into the air combat subnet, we come up with the idea of changing the time slots of task and asking the fighter to do some job for NTR. Thus we can speed up the networking process of terminal and allocate timeslots reasonably at the same time. The NTR election protocol changes the existing method of selecting the backup NTR by administrator. In the new method, considering time quality and geodesic position information all the terminal together elect a new NTR which is the most similar with the original NTR. In this way we can make the protect rearrangement smoothly and ensure the efficiency of network.In order to optimize Link16communication protocol and improve its performance in air combat subnet, this paper mainly do the following work:1. Research the system characteristics and key communication protocols of Link16;2. Put forward an innovative protocol named air combat subnet fast network protocol to improve the networking process, put forward an innovative protocol named NTR election protocol to improve the protecting switching efficiency;3. Set up an air combat subnet simulation topology based on the OPNET platform to test the performance of above two protocols, and then analyze the simulation results.
