The information security in the campus network is the guarantee of gaining, transmiting, processing and distribution of all kinds of information. It is also the foundation of the office automation in the campus, the key of information construction in the campus and of improving teaching quality.This article analyzes the safe threat in the campus network first, such as the vulnerability of the network, non-authorized visit, information revelation, destruction data integrity, service rejection, computer virus, and then proposed 7 measures to protect the information in the campus network. Because the PKI has many superiorities in identity authentication, digital signature, key management, it can provide the uniform identity authentication, access control, digital signature, data encryption and decryption, integrity protection of the data and non-repudiation. Therefore, if we adopt PKI in our campus network, we can improve the security of our information.Then, the article research the application of the PKI in WEB system and Message handling system in the campus network in detail, and proposes the measure to apply the digital ID, digital signature, digital envelop based on the SSL protocol and Microsoft CryptoAPI programming.At last, the article proposes one detailed measure to construct PKI/CA trust model in our campus.If the PKI can be introduced to our campus network, it can provide identity authentication, access control, data encryption and decryption, integrity protection and non-repudiation. It will be the guarantee of secrecy, integrity, and it can provide reliable safeguard to apply the information management in our campus.
