The electromagnetic environment is complex under the circumstances of present-day battlefield. Protecting military electronic systems against High Power Microwave Weapons is playing a more and more significant role in the war. It is named electronic systems anti-High Power Microwave hardening. This paper studies the microwave diode limiters and its main contents are given as follows:1. A time-domain improved model of PIN diode is established. It is obtained using the Laplace transform based on the area ambipolar carrier transport equation. The model can be used in PSpice simulation over 1GHz. PIN diode limiter's switching performance is thoroughly studied.2. The method of SiC Schottky Barricade (SBD) limiter is proposed. PSpice simulation is used in its switching performance study, the simulation results indicate that using SiC SBD can greatly improve the limiter's performance.3. Cascade limiter is presented to protecting military electronic systems against High Power Microwave Weapons. That is SiC SBD limiter cascade after a plasma limiter. The novel cascade limiter can greatly enlarge the capacity of handling power and suppress the leakage power.The research achievement can be used in guiding the military electronic systems anti-High Power Microwave hardening.
