The technology of DTTB has been consummate. With several years'hard work, Chinese National Standard on Terrestrial Digital TV (DTMB) is released. Commercialization of DTMB in many places is being extended. DTMB is a mixed standard of multi-carrier and single carrier technology. The multi-carrier mode in DTMB is based on the transmission protocol of Terrestrial Digital Multimedia-Television Broadcasting (DMB-T) which is proposed by Tsinghua University. The protocol adopts a special multi-carrier modulation scheme-- Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation with Time Domain Synchronization. As OFDM multi-carrier modulation's confrontation capacity with long time-delay multi-path, this protocol supports the coverage scheme with both multi-frequency and single frequency modes.Within the framework of DTMB, focusing on the multi-frequency mode, this thesis describes the design and implementation of the measurement system on terrestrial digital TV and does primary research on the problem of coverage planning. This system supports all the working modes of DTMB, reaches the designing objective. Meanwhile, it is very easy to evaluate the coverage quality and present the proposal of network planning with this system.In the design, this system supports mobile operation and records all the parameters which are concerned in the coverage test. All the data is transmitted to PC through USB2.0 interface. The system supports both real-time monitoring and off-line evaluation. This thesis gives brief introduction of the DTV and coverage planning related knowledge, describes the system structure, unit functions and hardware/software implementation in detail, and also presents the evaluation of the performance. Meanwhile, this thesis gives the primary discussion on the simulation of network coverage, and gives the proposal on how to consummate the network coverage with this system.
