Virtual prototyping, as a kind of brand-new products development approach,compares with traditional design method, it can not merely revise and design conveniently through virtual prototype before making physics prototype actually,shorten products development period, lower costs, and can also improve the properties of product, strengthen the market competitiveness, accelerate the transformation from new technology to new products. It is the very important meaning of using virtual prototyping to carry on the systematic design and performance emulation in double axes flexible rollforming machine .Usually roll formed sections have a constant longitudinal cross-section. Certain areas of application like the automotive industry have shown a big demand on profiles with variable cross-sections. The flexible rollforming technology which combines with the computer techenology becomes a developing direction of the new rollforming techenology. The flexible rollforming machine sets can produce profiles with variable cross-sections .In our country,the research about this aspect is almost vacant. The double axes flexible rollforming machine in this thesis is a flexible rollforming machine sets that is developed by the domestic institute indepedntly and has been applied for the patent.This thesis selects the double axes flexible rollforming machine as the research object. In order to provide the theoretic foundation for the choice of original motor and transmission equipment of the double axes flexible rollforming machine , mechanism dynamics analysis has been conducted with virtual prototype technology and the mechanical demand has been studied.First, the performance demand for the flexible rollforming machine has been studied, the structure and working principle has been discussed.Secondly, three-dimensional entity's modeling has been constructed in Pro/e.It is transmitted to Adams. The virtual prototyping has been constructed.Then, simulation of the system has been done. With the result of simulation, the kinematics and dynamics performance of the flexible rollforming machine has been validated . The displacement,velocity,acceleration,forces and moments of the essential parts are analyzed. The simulating result is qualitatively evaluated. Finally, the finite element analysis to the stress and displacement of the spindle in ANSYS has been carried on.At present, the research of the flexible rollforming machine is at the threshold. The dynamics analysis and structure design method of the flexible rollforming machine based on the virtual prototype technology which has been presented in this thesis, and the achievement, have certain reference and actual application value.
