With the rapid development of micro-electronics and embedded technology, Industrial Control Computer based on high performance embedded processor is widely used in industrial control system due to its smart dimension, high reliability and low price. It becomes more and more popular.Embedded operating system is one of the critical technologies in embedded industrial control systems. Windows CE is one of the most popular embedded OS used in Industrial Control Computer because of its high reliability, excellent openness, short development cycle and convenient HMI (Human Machine Interface).A key research on Industrial Control System is real-time performance and reliability. Based on the analysis of relevant modules and previous optimization project of real-time performance in Windows CE, This paper has proposed a method of applying rate monotonic (RM) scheduling algorithm and its condition of schedulable tasks to multi-thread scheduling in Windows CE, which can effectively get rid of the problem of miss-scheduling of periodic tasks and improve the real-time performance to some extent. Software reliability design and testing are summarized at the same time. After studying the methods and property of software reliability module existed, this paper has also proposed a new software reliability module based on testing cases by applying software testing into module design and using mathematical knowledge as well, which improves accuracy and is easy to implement in practical project.The paper has closely integrated the project of the software design of Electronic Yarn Clearer system based on Windows CE, which further verifies the research of real-time performance and reliability in the real system and proves the efficiency of the paper as well as practical significance.
