| More than half of the traditional education management systems are based on OLTP, these OLTP systems contain mainly raw data and cannot provide too much analysis and historic information to management for decision making. In the new competitive era, decision makers must have some tools to analyze massive raw data and quickly deliver valuable information in assist of their decision and enforce competitive power. These tools what education institutions are interested are on build on a high capability, high scalable and high reliable data warehouse database, and the high efficient and management software working together.Based on the above description, this paper is to outline how data warehouse database and data management are used and applied on the adult school advanced management and decision system. First, it simply discusses database management and data query concept. Then, it will focus on ID3 algorithm and rough set theory, but if only use ID3, it will be low efficient in the instance of many attributes in building decision tree. This paper introduces new algorithm of combining the rough set theory and the ID3 algorithm. Compared with the decision tree built by ID3 algorithm and new algorithm with the same example, we can know the new algorithm is better.In this paper, we will use one example'Retired students'to build our target database and utilize the ETL process to help management in getting high efficient and better analysis result for decision making.High capability and management database not only reduces duplicate and inconsistent data among different departments, but also shares data and computing resources to deliver accurate analysis of bigger data source. This paper will choose Shanghai Changning Area College for our study case. We will collect student data, teachers, courses, classrooms and management into our central database. Then based on practical usage we will develop several programs to report of student absence and the leaders of college commend it. |
