With the rapid development of biological technology, the fermentation industry has been paid more and more attentions by experts in the technology world. Modeling based on experiment data, parameter estimation and process simulation of the model are the important approaches to bring more benefit of fermentation process and to improve the level of automatic control.In order to find the optimized manipulation conditions and enhance the productivity of the fermentation process, developing the simulation software of this process is of great importance. The functions of the software discussed in this thesis mainly include:1. Based on the fermentation kinetic model and experimental data, to identify the parameters, so as to build the model of the process. 2. Given the mathematical model of fermentation process, simulate the system, so as to understand the essence of the microorganism reaction.3. Regarding different biological parameters and initialized conditions, using the way of system identification and simulation to find the optimized manipulation condition, in order to reduce the times of the experiments and lower the consume.Up to Now, LabVIEW is the most widely used, rapid growing graphic software developing tool. it has a lot of functions, includes plenty of mathematics and simulation tool ,and it is easy to get started and the GUI is very clear and beautiful. it is really a suitable tool for simulation software development.Based on the points that have mentioned above, this thesis mainly presents the design and implementation of a biological fermentation process simulation and system identification software based on LabVIEW, and the creativity of this design is the mutual design of the MATLAB and LabVIEW, besides, the simulation software is based on multiple general fermentation process models, the architecture of the thesis states as followed:Chapter 1 introduced the evolution of the fermentation polytechnic and control system simulation, and LabVIEW as developing tool, stated that simulation is significant to optimized manipulation and predictive control of fermentation process.Chapter 2 showed the process of building the mathematic model of fermentation process, briefly introduced the kinetic model and analyzed the parameter estimation principle based on the model of this design.Chapter 3 introduced the design theory of the whole development, modularizing is the key point of BioSim. Based on design process, it can be divided in to GUI and algorithm, and based on content, it can be divided in to simulation and system identification.Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the detailed developing process of the design. Chapter 4 mainly presents the design of simulation algorithm, GUI developing and the running process control of the whole. Chapter 5 introduced the difficulty of the design– using MATLAB and LabVIEW together to mutually develop the system identification, includes the analyzing and design process.Chapter 6 is the application of the software BioSim, including the steps of how to use BioSim, and the build process of EXE file and installer, and other related options.Chapter 7 is the conclusion part, and discusses the further research and future of this field.
