As the development of port automation technology, there is a higher demand on the system of port remote monitoring and management. Realizing the disadvantage of information showing way and interaction of the remote monitoring system for the traditional port machineries, we present a desktop virtual reality based monitoring system for the port machineries, combining the R&D of the key technology on the efficient-intelligent-typed 3D container handling port, the sub-task of the Mountaineering Program of Shanghai. On premise of making the most of the existing hardware and software resources of the monitoring system, the present Human-Computer Interface of'diagram+picture+data'is changed into a more direct viewing and interactive 3D interface. It shows the user the 3D interactive virtual port scene directly, simulates and shows the operational position and status of the port machineries and allows the user to see and monitor from any angle and viewpoint. So, the system enhances the information quantity of monitoring and takes monitoring system of the port machineries to a new stage.Taking the constructing of the virtual port platform as the main research subject, the thesis does some research on the realization of the virtual port platform and integrated test of the remote monitoring function of the port machineries on the platform and pioneering research on the monitoring system for the virtual port of the next generation. The main research contents include:1. Research on the modeling technology of the virtual port scene. Establish the model library of the port machinery parts and port environment subjects and the virtual port scene using the self-developed quick and visualized constructing system. Also, this thesis does some research on the scene data drive and level of detail technology in model optimization and the texture map technology.2. Research on the technology of rendering display and scene interaction for the virtual port. Firstly, the 3D visualized rendering technology is analyzed and researched and the DirectX based technology of 3D rendering pipeline is also researched. We realize the rendering display using the visual port rendering engine, combining with the control process of the Windows system and message dealing system. Secondly, the technologies of customer interactive manual roam and scene auto roam and scene interaction are researched and a 3D interactive visual port platform is constructed.3. Research on the quick rendering technology for the visual port. Through the research on the scene graph technology, quick visibility judgment technology, dynamic scheduling technology for the scene subject and the instance technology, the drawing of the scene is quickened and the real time capabilities are ensured.4. Carry the integrated test of the remote monitoring system based on the visual port platform. A simulative remote monitoring system for the port machineries is constructed, and the technologies and algorithm that presented before are applied and validated.
