With the high-speed development of economic, the traffic is more and more crowded. The rail transportation, thanks to the advantages it has, has become more and more effective on relaxing the traffic pressure. The CBTC (Communication based Train Control) system which adopts high precision train locating and continuous, high speed, bidirectional data communications, can realize the control of the train via onboard and trackside equipment. The research on CBTC system is very important, but it's difficult to research and test the actual system. So we introduce the computer simulation technology to establish the CBTC simulation platform. The main function of Agent-based CBTC simulation platform is to support the research of the system by realizing the basic function of it through the simulation of the actual running. The design of the system stands out self-determination, extensibility, and convenient. The major work of this paper is as follows:1. Introduced the urban rail transport background and expatiated the advantages of the CBTC system as the future development direction.2. Summarized the theory of Agent and showed the feasibility of applying the Agent technique on the CBTC simulation.3. Adopted the ABM (Agent-based modeling) to set up the frame of CBTC simulation. Entity model which include train model and line model are analyzed and designed, as well as the function model which include VOBC model and ZC model.4. Completed the communication between VOBC Agent and ZC Agent by Agent language.5. Realize the main function of CBTC by VC++ software developing environment.6. The data of simulation is processed by using MATLAB software so that the feasibility of this simulation system is validated.
