Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is a new research discipline arising to solve a series of social and environmental issues caused by rapid growth in the number of cars. Automated Highway System (AHS) is an important part of ITS. In the light of lots of changes exist in Autonomous platoon composed of Autonomous Vehicles, such as the vehicle out of the team and into the team, the researchers research on drive process of autonomous vehicle platoon and come up with many control algorithms.How to verify the effectiveness of the control algorithms is a valuable research subject. Compared with the control algorithms for Autonomous platoon, the research of the corresponding simulation system is lagging behind, simulation on drive process of autonomous vehicle platoon by computer simulation technology is very meaningful.Firstly, on the basis of analysis of the research on relevant areas and system simulation theory, combined with research status of control for Autonomous platoon and the characters of the control algorithms, we make requirements analysis about the control simulation software of Autonomous platoon, and determine the off-line way as the simulation methods, the computer animation as the manifestation of the control process, and evaluate the control algorithms by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods, which establishes the overall framework for the research carried out in this article.Secondly, according to the general procedures of the software engineering, we make the overall design of the control simulation software of Autonomous platoon, and fix the fictions, such as algorithm evaluation, animation manifestation, data processing, algorithms interfaces, etc. After researching on related key technologies of this simulation software, we determine the computer animation program and the interface form of algorithms input. C++programming language is chosen to develop and debug the simulation software based on Visual C++6.0.Thirdly, on the basis of research on artificial intelligence, we dig at modeling of Autonomous platoon by Multi-Agent System (MAS). We make the behaviors plan of vehicle Agent, establish the motorcade control model based on communication among vehicles, and research on the algorithm control flow of the motorcade (the vehicle out of the team and into the team). It’s an example to validate the functions of the control simulation software of Autonomous platoon in this thesis.Finally,we validate the functions of the control simulation software of Autonomous platoon by comparing the multi-vehicle lined-up control algorithm studied by relevant researchers and algorithm applied in this paper, and the expected functions are achieved by analyzing the simulation results—the control simulation software of Autonomous platoon in this thesis is effective.
