Fingerprint identification technology has been universally noticed due to its feature of uniqueness and stability, and has fully developed among all the biometric identification technology. Along with the development of embedded technology, embedded fingerprint recognition system has been widely used.This paper focuses on hardware design of embedded fingerprint recognition system, and realizes the identification system of fingerprint and RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) based on Samsung ARM7 processor (S3C44B0X) .It provides the functions of fingerprint acquisition, RFID information collection,data storage,voice prompt, information encryption and etc.Besides, low power and low cost are also its features,which make this product more competitive both in performance and price.This paper first introduces the development of fingerprint recognition and embedded system,and gives an outline of current mainstream hardware platform,including processors and sensors related.Then it gives the process of the hardware and software design,and the explanation of the algorithm based on minutiae.According to the experience of PCB design, it also makes a brief introduction of high speed PCB design and debug method.At last, we conclude the whole work of this paper and describe the prospect of fingerprint recognition for further exploration.
