Marine oil-fired boiler is one of the important auxiliaries in large oil tanker and also the earliest auto-control equipment. It is very significant for the boiler operators to operate safely and effectively. Therefore, they must carry out regular and irregular training. But the traditional training needs a long time-periodic, and it is less effective. Moreover, the majority of operators have a rather poor capacity to handle emergency incidents. The design of marine oil-fired boiler simulators could resolve the problem satisfactorily.In the study on the marine oil-fired boiler, a marine oil-fired boiler simulation system with full operating condition, real-time processing, moderate accuracy and visual interface is developed by the computer simulation technology. The following work has been done and finished.First,the concept of computer simulation is first expounded, and then the principle of the marine oil-fired boilers and related facilities are discussed, the boiler system is also classified. According to the composition and characteristic of marine oil-fired boiler, the dynamic mathematical and simulated model of marine oil-fired boiler combustion system and vapor generation system are built for supplying the experimental data to design and develop the high precision and visual real-time simulation system by the methods of supposing and simplify, modularization, the basic conservation of energy and mass and mechanism analysis.Secondly, the internal structure of marine oil-fired boiler is analyzed systematically. The internal characteristics, basic process and auto-control system of marine oil-fired boiler are described. And the system-related software ,total design requirement and total design ideas of the marine oil-fired boiler simulation system are also proposed.Finally, the composition structure and related function of a marine oil-fired boiler simulator is designed. The design of real-time database and network communication of a distributed simulation system is completed. Moreover, the design of human-computer interface and function modules is also completed. A real-time simulation system of a marine oil-fired boiler simulator is at last developed.In the study process of the subject, the realization of system software is mainly focused on and other aspects are considered. By combining operating characteristics of oil-fired boiler with practical operation, marine oil-fired boiler simulation system which accords with the practical requirements is developed.
