With the development of scale and function of simulation system, distributed simulation system becomes one of the directions in the research field of modem simulation technology. This paper designs a real-time distributed Terrain Following/Terrain Avoidance (TF/TA) simulation system.The first part of the thesis introduces the conceptions, key technology and theory of TF/TA technology. The necessity and feasibility of real-time distributed TF/TA simulation system is discussed.In second part of the thesis, a real-time distributed TF/TA simulation system isdesigned. The project is given. The framework, capability and the protocol of theLocal Network (LAN) is analyzed. The management of the system is introduced.The emphasis of this part is how the real-time network coniniunication is designed.The method of developing Virtual Device Driver (VxD) to transport data in theLAN is discussed.In third part of the thesis, main program flowcharts are listed.At last, simulation result is analyzed. The question of real-time includes time spent in terrain matching, data transportation and the calculation of location difference between plane and planned trace. The effect of terrain matching period to the flying procedure is analyzed. Also, relevant question of radar model, algorithm of terrain matching and control law is raised.
