Network topology discovery technology is always a hot point on administration of Networks and Network security examination. With the developing importance of Network topology information in military application, Network topology has attracted considerable attention. Massive research results of IPv4 have been acquired and have obtained widespread applications. However, IPv6 have significant difference from IPv4 in many aspects, such as router structure, address space and so on, and Network topology discovery technology of IPv4 is not completely suitable for IPv6. Therefore the research on Network topology discovery technology of IPv6 has been a leading subject, and it is also the core content of this paper.In order to solve the topology discovery problems in autonomous territory of IPv6 network, the already existing topology discovery algorithms of IPv6 have been analyzed after introducing the interrelated technologies in the paper. Then our own topology discovery algorithm is proposed combining the characteristic of military application. Employing the lamination thought, topology discovery in autonomous territory of IPv6 is divided into two parts--dendriform topology discovery and retiform topology discovery. The core thought of retiform topology discovery algorithm is penetration strategy based secondary source routing topology discovery algorithm, which has greatly improved the discovery probability of boundary router, furthermore, has improved the fraction of coverage of the whole topology discovery. The core thought of dendriform topology discovery algorithm is the brother-node guess algorithm, which can obtain the address space scanning by other means. Summarizing the above algorithm and strategy, the above conclusions are proved by experiments in IPv6 Backbone Net. And it is from the experiments and analyses that the proposed algorithm can satisfy the actual demand of topology discovery in autonomous territory of IPv6 network.
