Engine Design Institute Workflow Research And Implementation

Workflow engine is the usage of applications of workflow management system, which is described as a standardized process imported software components. It protects the status of processing, and assigns activities between human and applications. The purpose of workflow management system has three aspects: first, as Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) platform; second, workflow system plays a big valuable secondary usage, which is to assist workflow software development in multi people involved situation. Finally, workflow engine can be embedded into other applications such as: client management, document management, supply chain, orders, payment, resources planning and so on.This paper analyzed the historical inevitability of workflow in business process re-promoting role. It viewed development trend of workflow and summarizes current problems. By research on workflow architecture and explore with the Design Institute Plone technology industry business process analyzes and workflow engine designs, finally, the workflow and LAN website management of CCRDI was chosen as an example to analysis usage of Plone technology in institute internal work processes design and content management.After studied on the model of information design institute, this dissertation achieved: deeply analyzed workflow system reference model (workflow system concept, various components, and function of each component and interfaces), main types of workflow (communication center, document center and process center), and customized workflow engine process (key elements of workflow definition: graphs, status, movements, variables, scripts, etc.). According to the requirement of Research and Design Institute of Chongqing (short as CCRDI), this paper designed a industry workflow engine to fit institute and content management system in a certain level research and exploration.This paper analyzed and designed workflow engine principle of CCRDI by Plone technology. Also, it designed and explored technical aspects in traffic website group of CCRDI by Plone Content Management System. To build up browser/server structure (B/S), Microsoft Windows advanced server2003 was chosen as the operation system, and Zope was chosen as development tool.The system successfully developed and implemented to address flexible process design and web-content management problems of CCRDI, and will greatly speed up information setting up of CCRDI.
