Nowadays, the shortage of water resources and increasingly water pollution are two big problems encountered in water environment. The main reason is that industrial wastewater, farmland drainage and urban and rural sanitary sewage are discharged into rivers, lakes and seas, which are deteriorating water quality day by day, besides, they have intensified water resources anxiety, seriously restricted economical development and greatly harmed human's health. Now the most important work we should do is to detect and control the pollution sources of industrial wastewater, farmland drainage and urban and rural sanitary sewage regularly.At present, most of those water quality monitoring work in our country is manual, which is hard to satisfy the technical need. This study provides a remote water quality monitoring data acquisition system to make the job more effectively. The use of the system will be helpful to make the water quality supervision more scientificly and precise, improve the informanization level, and realize automatization and modernization of the work.This system consists of two main parts, which are monitoring scene and water quality detection center. Monitoring scene is composed by water quality detection and data acquisition module and RTU module. Water quality detection center is a computer loaded with environment protection integrated management information system, which will dispose the supervising data, build corresponding database, manage and control all the datas. Then, it will upload the information to the senior management computer.Water quality acquisition system can detect lots of parameters, including the value of pH, conductivity, COD, temperature, nitrate radical iron, chloride iron, oxygen iron and potassium iron, the value of pH is the most important parameter amongst. This study pays more attention to design and develop the value of pH acquisition module according to the request. Cygnal8051 SCM is used to collect the data through a sensor, and this work is carried by RS-485 bus and RTU module. After a series of system debugging, real-time data receiving and dispatching has been realized. Finally the desired goal is achieved, it has proved the feasibility of the system.
