In future wars, UAV's role and status is very pivotal. If UAV's operations can only rely on ground-based network, the scope of its activities will be severely restricted; if UAV's operations can only rely on space-based network, space-based network need have strong capability of anti-jamming and anti-damage, and this is very difficult to be achieved. The launch site and the set of fixed ground facilities of space-based system are vulnerable, and space satellites are also the important attack goals in recent researches. So in addition to continuing to emphasize on improving space-based system to seize the high ground, it is also necessary to emphasize on establishing air-based system as a supplement to each other.Aiming at the drawbacks of think little of about specific characteristics of the nodes and environmental factors in current simulation software, by analyzing the characteristics of UAV and Ad Hoc network, the paper designs and implements an UAV communication simulation system(UCSS) utilizing Visual C#.Net development tools, gives performance evaluation criteria of the system, and analyzes the characteristics of the system. UCSS takes UAV as communication node and Ad Hoc network as net architecture, simulating dynamic space-based information transmission. In the same experimental environment, the paper conducts a contrast experiment between UCSS and GloMoSim, which is a kind of popular network simulation software at present. Experimental results indicate that the UCSS is effective. In a rencounter scenario, using FSR as routing protocol, it also makes simulation experiments respectively in mountain environment and plain environment, as well as in different communication distance and different flight. Experimental results indicate that the UCSS is effective and superior. Besides, the battlefield environment has an important effect on the efficiency of routing protocol. To solve the problem of the inadequate bandwidth of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle(UAV) microwave communications, the paper proposes applying free space optics(FSO) technology to UAV communications link. Aiming at the characteristics of FSO's limited transmitter and receiver, the paper revises Ad Hoc network routing protocols FSR. To ensure that the remaining bandwidth per line must meet transmission needs, the paper improves the FSR agreement(QoS-FSR). The simulation experiments are run based FSR and QoS-FSR in a Reencounter Scenario. The results of experiments indicate that the network performance using the improved QoS-FSR is superior to that using FSR.
