Mobile Ad hoc network is a set of mobile nodes which form and self-configure the network without the pre-deployed central administrative infrastructure.Ad hoc network is used widely for Command and Control in the battlefield, and the representative example of Ad hoc network is Tactical Internet. However, many research about TI, whatever clustering and routing protocols and simulation, regard TI as a normal Ad hoc network ignoring the effect of battlefield factors. Aim of our research is to present a new cluster routing protocol and simulation solution which is fit for the feature of TI. Our research work has four sections based on the goal.(1) This paper studies the features and architecture of TI. Nodes in TI are many tactical units of the army. They were partitioned many different small groups by the Columns. One group performs the same duty so their movements are very alike and the head of them superintend their action. Communications always occur among the group or between two groups. All of this are the most important factors which influence effect of protocol.(2) A new Clustering FSR protocol based on Columns(CC-FSR) is presented here. due to research on communication in TI. Considering the feature of TI this paper compare some classical cluster and routing protocol. Then FSR protocol is selected because its features are better than others. So CC-FSR would be more ascendant in TI.(3) To simulate tactical communications in a LAN, a tactical communication simulation system(TCSS) is designed and programmed. TCSS is use under several different environments of rencounter scenario (?) simulate tactical actions. Rencounter scenario is a training way for war purpose.(4) This paper finishes a series of experiments using CC-FSR and FSR, uses two new criteria to evaluate protocols. The result of tests indicates that CC-FSR protocol not only outperforms the FSR protocol in general but also on stability of Connected Degree C especial.
