Computer Testing And Control System For Flow Verification

The flow standard device is a test equipment which is intended to reproduce the value of a flow quantity, and finally to be traceable to the national primary standard for a base quantity. It is mainly used to calibrate flow meter. This calibration is the base of flow measurement. It will ensure unification and right transmission of the flow quantity. Another application of the flow standard device is to carry out performance testing and research of flow meters.In this paper, an automatically flow verification system based on industrial control computer is developed to replace the manual flow standard device used currently in the nation. This work realizes flow testing intellectually, automatically, and real-timely. And hence it remarkably improves accuracy, speed, reliability, and anti-interference ability of flow measurement.This article describes the design and fundamental principles of the automatic verification system which uses industrial control computer as the core technology. Both the hardware system and software system are designed and implemented. The main research can be summaried as below:1. The principles and functionality requirements of the automatic verification system are analyzed. A practical automatic verification system is designed, and a new nozzle measurement section is also developed.2. According to the working procedures, the system software is also designed, which includes the main program, various interruption service programs, verification program, data processing program, and communication & control program, etc.3. Through design, experiment, and improvement, the whole automatic verification system, based on the control algorithm of expert knowledge and experiments, becomes a highly precision and integrated intelligent system. The system can automatically collect and save the signals under the software control according to the pre-programmed procedures. Then using the data processing program to compare and calculate the measured signals and the standard signals to get the verification results.This designed flow verification system is stable, accurate , easy operation, simple interface, high ratio of performance/cost. After half a year's running, all the technical specifications of the system can meet the requirements of the various flow measurements.
