Passive millimeter wave (PMMW) imaging makes use of the electromagnetic thermal emission of the subject and reflected thermal signals from the background. Passive millimeter wave imaging, in comparison to visible or infrared imaging ,has great potential advantage of imaging through fog, clouds, smoke, sandstorms and other poor weather conditions. Current imaging systems relied on mechanical scanning of a single beam across the scene have problems of low spatial resolution and poor sensitivity. During the past several years, due to significant advances in the development of solid state components and high-signal processing technology, multi-beam array imaging systems, which promise an increase in sensitivity and resolution, have received considerable interest in both the military and civilian applications. As an important part of Passive millimeter wave imaging system, data acquisition system plays a key role to improve PMMW imaging system performance.In this paper, considering the demands of the system ,based on PCI Bus technology, a high-speed data acquisition system is designed for the item Applied PMMW Radar.We select FPGA as the kernel part of the high-speed data acquisition system. In this system, control logic module of peripheral interface, chips control logic module and algorithms module are all implemented by FPGA, communication with PC is implemented by PCI bus. So the design of FPGA's internal logic and algorithms realization in FPGA is the focus of this article. Lots of peripheral chips'functions are realized in a single FPGA, improve the system's integration and reliability, then optimize the system.This paper introduces the theory of signal acquisition, basic configuration and timing of PCI bus. The basic theory and development process of FPGA are mentioned, too. Then each module on the PCI bus-based high-speed data acquisition board is detailed designed. The main module of the board include A/D conversion controller, FIFO memorizer, DDR controller and PCI bus controller. The schematics of each module's simulation are showed in the paper.In the last paper, aimed at the characteristics of PMMW imaging, This paper proposes a method using bicubic splie function interpolate to magnify images, using edge sensitive filter to process image edges ,in order to renew edge character of image. Experimentation result shows that this method is effective.
